Salmon-Safe is a nonprofit, devoted to restoring agricultural and urban watersheds so salmon can spawn and thrive. Wilcox Farms has over 2.5 miles of riverfront property along the Nisqually River. To enhance this habitat Wilcox became Salmon-Safe certified in 2005 by:
- Riparian/Buffer Zones: Wilcox has partnered with the Nisqually Indian Tribe to ensure proper vegetation and spacing for the correct salmon habitat.
- Through the independent water and monitoring system on the farm, Wilcox as been able to reduce their fresh water usage.
- Wilcox Farms does not use any pesticides in its farming practices.
